Near perfect Sunday as only one obligation looms and its late in the afternoon. I’m typing this as I take a break from worrying about money for a minute. The winter months are when the lake house starts to really get to me. The first tax bill of the year came and I cringed more than just a bit. I really think we need to rent that thing out a couple times a year so it can help pull its own weight. I have to be careful about this but I’m going to begin my search for the types of people who help with that. I need a service that will allow me to block off all of our family weekends and they will try to fill the gaps with money. I’ll stop the spoiled baby crying about his second house but its the two sets of bills that wear away at my sanity.
The proficient professional pollacks installed that ceiling fan and made it work from the wall switch in under an hour so I don’t feel too guilty about my as long as your here addition. I glanced through the instructions before I threw the box out and it looked like a pisser. The added bonus of buying a flush mounted one “perfect for small rooms” is that my scalp is no longer in danger when I get too close. Having no hair gave me the extra sensitivity to the breeze coming off of the blades so I avoided more than one hit that way. But every once in a while I’d stand straight up into the thing when it was moving and that was never fun.
I have the fellas a couple more days this week because the recent cold snap has been messing with the drying times of our materials. No big deal because it wont cost any more just extra ass pain. The dog and I will be hunkered down in the office again tomorrow while the new barrier wall is constructed. I might have become frustrated moving the big green couches downstairs and snapped the decorative railing off of the stairs. And there could have been some bumping of the upper section rendering it structurally unsafe but none of that matters as its being replaced by 2×4 and drywall construction.
The only money sword of Damocles hanging over my head from this project is the ever mysterious water in the living room ceiling. We have had numerous professionals on the case over the years and I’m worried what these guys will find once they get a tiny dude to go up there and inspect. Its going to be something I’m not prepared to pay for. I know it. But a secret part of me thinks its just the house crying because it hasn’t been able to get rid of me in spite of our intense hate hate relationship. It will be very tempting the day that Liza finally consents to moving out not to light a family sized bag of chips on fire in one corner just to see what happens.

Vacation Rentals by Owner – and no, I’m not stalking………
Might also want to try a lake house local real estate company – may do property management.
