I probably should have been more clear yesterday when I said I had no idea about the video ads on this site. I’ve said it before but maybe I wasn’t clear; I never visit stupidtom.com. There’s really no reason as I am the only author plus sometimes reading my own crappy writing makes me cringe. Its the same problem I had when I used to draw all the time. I love getting lost in creating something but when I go back to it I rarely like what I did. Strange I know but that’s just me. So when someone tells me that I have video ads that are not only annoying but still not producing more than pennies I was curious. When I looked the ads were funny so I’ll let them annoy you for a while sorry. I am endlessly entertained by Google’s unsuccessful attempts to figure out how to sell to my readers.
There was something about healthy eating and then the next one was for the Illinois Tollway. These are both causes that I vehemently oppose so that’s why I laughed. I was also informed in December by a regular reader that the snow was falling and could I make it stop. So if something annoys you let me know. I might fix it or I may just ignore you but either way I will know what’s going on.
In other news I don’t think I showed you my birthday present. More of a birthday gift to me because I’ve become fed up with my various travel rewards programs. I’m trying my best to turn the ones that are particularly hard to use into treats I would not normally buy myself. This is the first thing in that new way of thinking because I had some points about to expire.

It’s called a micro 4/3 camera which means it looks like a toy next to the bigger fancier DSLRs but so far I love the pictures and the price was certainly right. That enormous plastic hood is on there because it makes me laugh. I had my choice of lenses so I went with a prime (my friend Larry just got a chubby because I used me some camera geek speak) which means no zoom. if I want my subject closer then I need to move myself and visa versa for further. Unlike my other camera this thing is small and fits in my travel bag. The only extras I have are that stupid hood and the battery charger so it will be hitting the road with me.
In an attempt to not repeat mistakes from the past I am learning how to use every part of this little machine. My goal is to know what every button and dial does by the end of the month. I should admit that these cameras are more my speed with menus made for dummies and settings that make me look like I already know what I’m doing. Hopefully I can use the photography thing to scratch part of my creative itch. We shall see.

Finally I get mentioned instead of Doug or George…. Funny an ad showing a slightly chubby cop was on the page….
Hmm.. do I know what my next birthday present will be? So far we’ve loved the hand-me-downs.
